Since 2019, while managing sales teams for our different businesses we found that you can build processes, in-house CRM. You can train your team, and appoint team leaders to keep everything running smoothly.
But people need continuous training, supervision to maintain consistency.
That’s how the idea of AI calling began.
But when we explored existing AI calling solutions, we encountered a MASSIVE problem.
The AI could talk. But the conversation felt like a ROBOT.
LATENCY was one of the biggest challenges.
When you call an AI system (Twilio, Exotel, etc), the response feels slow. Here’s why: your voice goes to a server through the internet (100-200ms delay), gets processed, comes back through internet again (another 100-200ms). Total wait = 400-600ms. Feels robotic.
Then we started developing our own AI calling solution and discovered another challenge.
To make AI calls work, we needed VoIP or cloud telephony. But we couldn’t use our existing business calling number in the
way we wanted. That was a BIG problem. Our customers already knew our number. Imagine convincing a customer
on a call, only to lose that connection because you’re calling from a different number.
And if we used numbers provided by an AI calling company, we risked losing access to those numbers if we stopped using its service.
Also cloud telephony put extra per-minute calling costs.
Building an AI calling bot is easy with AI.The real challenge was different:
✅ Can we build an AI calling solution that uses the business’s original number?
✅ Delivers negligible latency is possible?
✅ Can we avoid cloud telephony’s per-minute calling costs?
We developed INJECTRA at MGTechLabs—a technology that enables us to transmit and
receive AI call audio through a normal Android phone with negligible latency.
Today, we’re using our AI calling system through a Acer tablet with just a ₹199 mobile recharge.
No dependence on cloud telephony’s per-minute calling model.
We inject audio directly into the active GSM call on the phone itself. No internet routing. No network delays.
The only overhead is converting the audio into the right format for the GSM call (10-15ms).
It’s about rethinking how AI-powered calls can work.
Cloud AI calling: 100-200ms network delay
My solution: 10-15ms only
Result: 90-190ms faster. Conversations feel natural, not robotic
We tested this on 500+ real phone calls. Real SIM cards. Real phone networks. Consistent 10-15ms format conversion time.
Zero network delays. Works on actual phones, not theory.
What started as an attempt to solve our own problem turned into something much bigger.
